OF CARROM

Perhaps
nobody knows about King of Carrom. It was a Television Series which was to be
created on CARROM before World Series of Carrom by ESPN/Star Sports. A trial
shooting was arranged in May 2006 in one of Film Studios in Noida. The whole
project was coordinated by me and all carrom related issued were finalised by
me. In the trial version, four local players - Sanjeev Bhatnagar, Mohd Irfan,
Saurabh Sharma and Gaurav Sharma participated.
Mostly
all aspects were tested like number and location of cameras, lighting effects,
colour combinations, still photos, make up, uniform of players, presentation of
players, colour of boards and c/m, rules, etc. Shooting went on for few days.
Unfortunately, before shooting of main series, the in charge/Director of the
Series left for heavenly abode in a car accident in South Delhi in early hours
while returning from his office in Gurgaon. He was a lively and knowledgeable
personality. We all were shocked on his sudden demise. Later a new Director
took over and it was converted into World Series of Carrom, story of which I
will take up in my future Posts.
